A ROTC award and a $500.00 scholarship are presented by a Mountain Empire Chapter member to an outstanding East Tennessee State University (ETSU) junior cadet during the annual ROTC awards ceremony.
The candidate is selected by the ROTC staff and must be a dedicated cadet who is committed to remaining in the program and is also expected to receive a commission in the US Army after his or her senior year.
The award medal and certificate are provided to the Chapter by MOAA National however the Chapter provides the $500.00 scholarship.
